Burnt, and Blown, 2024
A sequel to Snowed, and Burnt (2024).
You, who are burnt
Burnt beneath the flaming love of God
You who are a mere gray ash
Lying hopelessly with your feeble arms and knees
Shall breath come from four winds
Shall it breathe in and give life
And now, lift your weakened knees
Stand at your feet and remember
Remember the fragrance of the grace
The sweet fragrance of the love of God
The love that endures forever
The love that was shown in the death
May arise, blown to the ends of the earth
May it open the eyes of the blind
May it open the mouths of the mute
And, sing praise

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
···
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
···
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
···
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm.
He said:
“Who is this that obscures my plans
with words without knowledge? ...
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand. ...
The Lord said to Job:
“Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him?
Let him who accuses God answer him!”
Then Job answered the Lord:
“I am unworthy—how can I reply to you?
I put my hand over my mouth.
I spoke once, but I have no answer—
twice, but I will say no more.”
