Harbor, 2024

I had meant to fill the room with water and paint a sea. But as I continued, the waves began to move in another way. They seemed to be seeking God—rising as if in praise, drawn toward Him.

Work in progress (Harbor, 2024)

Then, in stillness, with my mouth closed, I prayed quietly. I asked the Holy Spirit for the grace that our home might be one that rejoices simply because God is God, and because Jesus is King—content with that alone, grateful for that alone.

Psalm 36:7-9

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Psalm 131

Lord, my heart is not haughty,
Nor my eyes lofty.
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Nor with things too profound for me.

Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

O Israel, hope in the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
